Tlaquepaque Festival of Lights

Join us for the holiday spirit at Spiritwind Gallery as more than 6,000 luminaries will set Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village aglow during Tlaquepaque's 32nd annual Festival of Lights--a beloved Sedona tradition. Enjoy performances by carolers, musicians, and dancers. Headlining the festival is the critically-acclaimed River of Life Tabernacle Choir from Phoenix featuring more than 100 young singers and musicians from a variety of backgrounds and histories.

The Soroptomists International of Sedona fill the luminary bags each year setting them throughout the grounds. Chime candles are distributed just prior to the ringing of the Chapel bell at 5 pm when visitors can then help light the luminaries, as a dramatic heart-warming movement transforms the village.

This is the first year a plaza of luminaries will honor cancer survivors, victims, and their families. “Thanks to the American Cancer Society, luminaries have become a special symbol of a way to honor the memory of a loved one or to provide a gesture of hope for the future of someone who is battling cancer and their family members. The public can purchase a luminaria for $10 in honor of a loved one with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society for cancer research." comments Wendy Lippman, General Manager and Resident Partner of Tlaquepaque.

Festivities occur thought the day so come early: Roasted chestnuts, fresh produce, holiday breads, homemade tamales and more will be offered by Maxfield’s Produce. The restaurants at Tlaquepaque – Secret Garden Cafe, Oak Creek Brewery & Grill, Rene, and El Rincon – will be serving throughout the day (reservations recommended). Prefer to avoid the parking? Sedona Trolley will provide free shuttle service every 15 minutes from 3 to 9 p.m. with pick-up and drop-off in the Uptown Municipal Parking Lot. Admission to the Festival of Lights is free, and of course with plenty of hot cider to keep us warm.
