Melinda Jennings

Melinda Blake Jennings has always loved drawing, ever since a little girl. As an Arizona native, she received a degree in art from Mesa Community College. Her passion for painting led her, soon after, to create a small company that she humbly called Wall Paintings by Melinda. Started in 1998, it rapidly grew into a full-time business. The next six years were spent painting beautiful, and much appreciated, wall murals for many Great Western Homes, businesses, and private individuals. In 2003, she began her series of large canvas paintings that combined grand old houses, lush vegetation and wrought-iron gates.

"I love traveling," says Melinda, "and the thing that seems to capture my imagination most is the architecture. I am particularly drawn to the grand, older homes and buildings where much emphasis has been placed on design and style, and to which aging adds its own particular textures and patinas. To me," she further explains, "these buildings have a character that is irresistible and quite transcends the ordinary materials of stone, brick and stucco. When I can find such extraordinary structures, set off by the natural beauty of rich vegetation, I am completely enthralled and feel compelled to capture the image and share it with others."

Living still in 'The Valley of the Sun,' Melinda’s career as an artist only continues to expand. Represented by fine art galleries in both Arizona and California, she receives much support from her husband, Gordon, and five beautiful children. We at Spiritwind Art Gallery are very honored that we might add to her success as we share Melinda’s passion with you.
